28 Mar

Today is Earth Hour Day. Turn off you light for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30PM (local time).

“Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change.”

A year later more countries and big cities started participating.

Worldwide historical landmarks like “Sydney Harbour Bridge, The CN Tower in Toronto, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and Rome’s Colosseum, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.”

On the third year more than 4000 cities in 88 counties, including the United States, pledges to turn off their lights.

This year 2010 Earth Hour will be today on March 27, it is a global call to all to participate. It is a call to take responsibility to lead a more sustainable future and contemplate on the one thing we all have in common– Plane Earth!

Earth Hour is organized by the World Wildlife Fund:)

Have a candle lit dinner. Read some spooky stories with a flashlight under the covers. There are many different activities you could do.

This even doesn’t require you to get off the power-grid just turn off you light. You could technically watch you TV or listen to the radio:)

What goes through you mind?
